Major Felix Rodriguez selected as Assistant Chief of Staff for the Florida National Guard

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (December 21, 2012) – Major General Emmett R. Titshaw Jr., the Adjutant General of Florida, is pleased to announce the selection of Major Felix Rodriguez as Assistant Chief of Staff for the Florida National Guard. Major Rodriguez follows Lieutenant Colonel Cecil Cauley who was recently selected to command 1-111th General Support Aviation Battalion.

“Major Rodriguez enjoys a great reputation and is highly qualified for this very challenging position,” said Maj Gen Titshaw. “Felix can hit the ground running. His experience and proven leadership is just what we need to keep the staff ahead of a rapidly changing planning environment.”

MAJ Rodriguez attended the Ordnance Officer Basic Course after being commissioned in 1998. He later attended the Military Police Officer Advanced Course and holds the Logistician specialty. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Mercer University and a Master of Science in Management from Troy State University.

MAJ Rodriguez began his military career at Fort Carson, Colorado as a platoon leader in the 183rd Maintenance Company later serving as its Shop Officer and Executive Officer. After deploying to Saudi Arabia in 2001, he was reassigned to the 68th Corps Support Battalion as the Intelligence Officer. In 2002, he transitioned into the Florida National Guard where he served as the Ammunition Officer for the 927th Corps Support Battalion before taking command of 690th Military Police Company in 2003. After returning from Afghanistan in 2006, he was assigned as the Assistant Professor of Military Science for Florida State University. He was reassigned to 83rd Troop Command in 2008 where he has served as both the Logistics and Operations Officer.

MAJ Rodriguez and his wife, Dawn, have two daughters, Megan and Ava. They currently reside in Tallahassee, Florida, but will relocate to St. Augustine in the near future.
