Major General Emmett R. Titshaw Jr.
The Adjutant General
Major General Emmett R. Titshaw Jr, assumed duties as the Adjutant General of Florida on June 26, 2010. He previously served as Special Assistant to the Director, Air National Guard and also as the Air National Guard Advisor to the Chief of Staff, United States Air Force. In this position, General Titshaw advised the Chief of Staff and senior Air Force leadership on how best to organize, train, equip, and employ the Air National Guard.
Brigadier General James O. Eifert
Assistant Adjutant General – Air and Deputy Commander
Brigadier General James O. Eifert is the Assistant Adjutant General-Air and Deputy Commander, Florida Air National Guard. General Eifert is responsible to the Commander for mission readiness, operations, and administrative coordination of the 2,000 personnel assigned to the 125th Fighter Wing and nine Geographically Separated Units.
Brigadier General Michael A. Calhoun
Director of the Joint Staff
Brigadier General Michael A. Calhoun is the Florida National Guard’s Director of the Joint Staff (DJS). As the DJS, he focuses on our Defense Support to Civil Authority (DSCA) mission, serve as our Joint Task Force (JTF) Commander, and perform duties under authorities of Dual Status Command, if called upon.
Colonel Perry L. Hagaman
Assistant Adjutant General – Army
Colonel Perry L. Hagaman assumes duties as the Assistant Adjutant General for the Florida Army National Guard on 1 July 2014. As the Assistant Adjutant General he is the Adjutant General’s primary advisor on all aspects of the Florida Army National Guard (FLARNG) and will provide oversight for both the state and federal missions of the FLARNG.
Colonel Valeria Gonzalez-Kerr
Assistant Adjutant General – Support
Colonel Valeria Gonzalez-Kerr currently serves as the Florida Department of Military Affairs’ State Quartermaster and the Florida National Guard’s Assistant Adjutant General – Army. She most recently served as Commander of the Homestead-based 50th Regional Support Group and Director of Human Resources for the Florida National Guard.
Colonel Mike A. Canzoneri
Chief of Staff – Florida Army National Guard
Colonel Mike A. Canzoneri began his career by attending basic training and Infantry AIT in 1982 at Fort Benning, GA. He served as a rifleman, machine gunner and team leader in A/3-124th IN. In 1986 Colonel Canzoneri attended OCS at the Florida National Guard Military Academy, graduating in August of 1986. He served as a rifle platoon leader, scout platoon leader and support platoon leader until 1992.
Colonel Thomas B. Cucchi
Chief of Staff – Florida Air National Guard
Colonel Cucchi received his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps upon graduation in May 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He was granted an educational delay and received a Master of Science degree in March of 1987 from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Command Sergeant Major Robert M. Hosford
State Command Sergeant Major
Command Sergeant Major Hosford was appointed the fifth State Command Sergeant Major (CSM) of the Florida Army National Guard on January 2, 2005. Prior to his assignment as Florida’s State CSM, he was serving as CSM with the 3rd Battalion, 265th Air Defense Artillery in Sarasota, Florida.
Chief Master Sergeant Jerry F. Gardner Jr.
State Command Chief Master Sergeant
Chief Master Sgt. Jerry F. Gardner Jr. is the ninth Florida State Command Chief Master Sergeant and is assigned to Headquarters, Florida Air National Guard in St. Augustine, Fla. He serves as the personal adviser to the Florida Air National Guard Commander on all issues regarding the welfare, readiness, morale, and proper utilization and progress of the enlisted force.
